Scott Johnson became the pastor of Union UMC on June 18, 2008. He is a native of the Conway area and proudly calls Horry County “home”. He is a 1997 graduate of Aynor High School and a 2003 graduate of Coastal Carolina University. After completing his course work at Coastal, Scott relocated to Atlanta, GA to attend Emory University where he obtained a Master’s of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology.

Scott is currently a Provisional Elder of the United Methodist Church. He is looking forward to June of 2009 when he will have completed his requirements to become an Elder in Full Connection within the denomination.

2000-2003: Pastor to the Bethel, Oak Grove, and Sampit UMC Charge in Andrews, SC
2003-2006 Student at Candler School of Theology, Emory University
2003 Volunteer, Project Take Charge (homeless prevention agency)
2004 Volunteer, Hagar’s House (abused women’s shelter)
2005 Assistant Chaplain at the Georgia Tech Wesley Foundation
2006-2008: Associate Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church in Myrtle Beach.


Scott currently lives in Conway with his soul mate Amanda and son Wyatt. He enjoys creating music, being outdoors, surfing, fishing, and hunting.
